HSE First Aid at Work

This course builds on the knowledge and skills of a basic first-aider. It will give you the confidence to cope with major trauma, when the emergency services are at least 30 minutes away.
After revising and practising basic first aid skills, the course looks at anatomy and physiology in more detail and then goes on to develop skill with advanced equipment such as bag and mask resuscitators, defibrillators and oxygen delivery systems.
Much of the course time is spent in scenario practice to develop confidence, and in most courses we try to involve people from the Casualty Union, so that the scenarios are as realistic as possible. These scenarios are learning experiences and are not examined.
